Gyros for RC Helicopters

The gyro is a small device that stabilizes a remote control helicopter during hovering and flying. Gyros help hold the tail rotor as steady as possible. There are several types such as the mechanical gyro and heading hold gyro.

Mechanical Gyro - This is the oldest type and no longer recommended.

Heading Hold Gyro - This offers good performance at a reasonable price. The heading hold gyro allows for full stick inputs and fights any tail movements that you do not desire. Highly recommended, especially for beginners on a budget.
